Based on the theory of Six Degrees of Separation, Odd magazine explores six connections between seven people in the creative industry. The magazine is inspired by the lives and styles of these seven key persons and the stories about their creative lives, which just happen to be a little bit odd. The magazine is completely conceptualized and realized by a group of 30 students from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute.
Odd magazine has also its own product line consisting of apparel, accessories and whimsical goodies. The products highlight the personal touch and connections of Odd allowing you to create connections between different products.

There’s been a hive of activity over the last few months regarding Open Design: first the (Un)Limited Design Forum in Amsterdam introducing the topic and then over to DMY Design Festival Berlin in Tempelhof Airport where we delved deeper into the subject.
The second edition of the (Un)Limited Design competition was launched internationally in Berlin accompanied by a series of workshops, talks and the (Un)Limited Design expo.

For a workshop in Berlin we made some examples for name rings. It’s quite a difficult process using only 2d files but after some try outs we managed to make custom namerings. People went crazy on these jewelry. We made small ones for short names and a double ring for long names. All made by a lasercut machine with cool colored acrylics.
After the workshop we started to produce double rings (without names). Soon we will report more about this new product!
